Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil a refreshed iteration of the iPhone SE this year, with purported mockups of the device beginning to surface. Sonny Dickson recently shared images showcasing an alleged dummy unit of the iPhone SE 4, providing a glimpse into its potential design.

For the unacquainted, dummy models are non-operational replicas of upcoming devices, crafted by case manufacturers based on insider information originating from Apple’s supply chain. The competitive race to produce cases for new devices often drives this practice, and historically, such leaked mockups have proven to be quite precise.
Speculation suggests that the forthcoming iPhone SE will mirror the aesthetics of the iPhone 14—a notion reinforced by the images of this mockup. The device appears to adopt an iPhone 14-like structure, complete with an aluminum frame, a glass back, and a singular rear camera lens. While rumors have hinted at the inclusion of features like an Action Button or the Camera Control button found on iPhone 16 models, these elements are absent from the dummy unit. Although their omission doesn’t entirely rule out their inclusion, it does diminish the likelihood, as case makers would need to accommodate such design adjustments.

While the device has been widely referred to as the iPhone SE 4, recent murmurs suggest it might instead carry the moniker iPhone 16E. Alongside the design elements visible in the mockup, the device is anticipated to feature a robust A17 Pro chip—engineered to support Apple Intelligence—an in-house modem chip, and an enhanced 8GB of RAM. Despite its reliance on a single rear camera, it is expected to house the same high-resolution 48-megapixel Wide camera currently featured in the iPhone 16.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone SE in March or April, continuing its legacy as the company’s most budget-friendly offering. While a modest price increase may be on the horizon, Apple reportedly aims to keep the cost beneath the $500 mark.
